Dear UConn hockey fan:
The #IceBus continues its journey toward hockey excellence. Last season’s explosive run in the Hockey East playoffs captivated UConn Nation. Our participation in the Hockey East Championship marked another significant milestone in the growth of our program under Head Coach Mike Cavanaugh.
And now, another building block will soon be put in place with the opening of our brand new, state-of-the-art hockey arena, an outstanding jewel in our athletics neighborhood on the Storrs campus. The new building, which will be home to our men’s and women’s programs, will hold about 2,600 with terrific viewing angles for all spectators and will include premium spaces such as an ice level lounge and a premium mid-ice club level seating area.
As we look forward to the opening of this sparkling facility, we want to thank the many loyal patrons who have supported UConn hockey through the purchase of season tickets at XL Center. For the upcoming 2022-23 men’s hockey season, our primary home will again be XL Center and, based on the current construction schedule for our on-campus facility, we will play the majority of our home games in Hartford. It is projected that our new arena will open shortly after the new year. No matter the exact timing, your season ticket purchase will include games both at XL Center and the new arena in Storrs. Since we anticipate a limited number of games in Storrs in 2022-23, seats will be assigned by Husky Athletic Fund priority points. This will be a great opportunity for fans to experience and enjoy the new building. Qualifying season ticket holders will then have the opportunity to choose their desired seats (for 2023-24 and beyond) during a seat selection process next spring, and there will be various seat pricing options offered.
We hope that you’ll be with us as we take the next step in the evolution of UConn hockey and continue to demonstrate your steadfast commitment to the student-athletes who wear the Husky uniform.
If you have any questions after you review the information contained here, please reach out to our staff. We will be happy to assist you.
Thanks again for your ongoing dedication to UConn hockey. The future is bright, and we look forward to sharing it with you.
Sincerely,
